In his senior collection, Bowman attacks the jazz scene with, again, another title track, “Summer Groove”. This single hit number 1 on the Jazz chart, and remained in the Top 10 for weeks. It also capped off as being one of the Top 3 most played songs of 2005. Bowman does not stop here. The rest of the album is saturated and infused with funk, jazz, and serenity. “Acoustic Rain” is compiled with an airy, deep, yet soft tone of percussions and guitar. “Candy’s Groove”, with it’s homage to smooth funk, will definitely put a bounce and vibration through the spine. “Dance” and “225” are undeniably crowd pleasers. Collaborations with gospels artists, Marvin Winans, Vickie Winans, and Rance Allen, help Bowman to still give the message of Jesus Christ to his audience. This album is arguably one of Bowman’s best works.
